A huge shoutout and thank you to all those who gave generously while shopping at Farm Boy at their Blossom Park-Plaza location, the staff who worked around us, for allowing us to have our Tag Days on Dec. 7 and 8.
In the first photo, we see Master Gunner Yoshida in one of the usual areas you would expect to see him.
On 4 Nov. 2019, he shared his experiences of being a cadet and his long career of 33 years in the Canadian Armed Forces.
Thank you for sharing your story!
On 5 October 2019, our cadets, under the supervision of Officer Cadet Walker, assisted the Riverside South Community Association with planting 300 trees.
Volunteering in our community is a great way to meet our neighbours, local politician the honourable Goldie Ghamari, MPP and to learn about citizenship!
Take a Veteran to Dinner Night offers civilians the opportunity to personally thank active and retired members of the Canadian Forces for their service and sacrifice. Civilian hosts are encouraged to buy tickets on the behalf of veterans and then both hosts and veterans gather for a delicious meal and memorable evening on Sunday at Tudor Hall.
You are going to be hearing a lot more from this young award winning cadet. Sgt. Jayden de Roy will be an honoured guest speaker at Take a Veteran to Dinner Night.
Hear about her trip to Dieppe.

What a fantastic story and priceless memory for this Army Cadet who completed the Canadian Forces Basic Parachutist course this past summer!
A Vancouver Island army cadet had a huge surprise when he travelled to Ontario to complete his basic parachute qualification course.
Cadet Warrant Officer Carter Smith of the 2422 Nanaimo Army Cadets was one of 50 army cadets from across the country who had gathered inside a hangar at CFB Trenton on Aug. 13 for the completion of their four-week parachute training course.
Carter, 17, was a tad nervous in the moments leading up to his first-ever parachuting experience. Those pre-jump jitters escalated when he met his jumping partner – his father.
Mark Smith, Nanaimo Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Detachment Constable, and part-time army reservist with the Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary’s), hatched a scheme to jump with his son. Read the full story The CFB Esquimalt Lookout Navy News.
480 Westboro Legion: Canadian Women's Army Corps luncheon
Four of our cadets attended the Canadian Women's Army Corps luncheon today at the 480 Westboro Legion and paid tribute to Doris Jenkins. This 95 year old veteran was celebrated by fellow comrades, legion members, friends, family and cadets.
We were delighted to meet Doris and hear of her history with the Canadian Women's Army Corps.
What a tribute and experience to lay a wreath on his great great grandfather's memorial while on his summer training Exchange in Belgium!
Cadet Gavin Reaman laid a small wreath at the Commonwealth Hyde Park Corner (Belgium) in memory of his great great grandfather that served and lost his life during the Great War.
